Mr. Pence originated from some weird shop in Scarborough, UK that I saw over 7 years ago in 2011. That shop is just a faint memory and I have no idea if it's something that actually exists or if it's just something I made up. All I remember is that it had Luigi with the letter "P" edited onto his hat and it was called "Mr. Pence".
In the year 2001, 1 week after the events of Luigi's Mansion, Luigi was begining to question Mario's behaviour. "Mario" he said. "Why are you so obsessed with money?". "You see Luigi, ever since you told me about what you did while I was saving the Princess, I figured that I needed some of that money" He replied. "Don't you earn enough on your adventures? You bought yourself a castle for god sake!!" Luigi said. "I don't have enough..." Mario said. "I need.... MORE!!!!". 1 day later, Luigi went to check his bank account to see that there wasn't even a penny left. "There isn't even a penny left!!" He shouted exactly what I just said. "I bet Mario must of taken it all after what he said yesterday." Then, a voice called Luigi. It was Mario. "Oi Luigi, thanks for the dosh!" said Mario. Luigi said nothing, he was cross. "I'm off!" said Mario. "I don't need you or the Mushroom Kingdom anymore!" he said. With no money left, Luigi had to look for a new job. Days later, everyone knew that Mario wasn't the guy he used to be. He is now an evil greedy guy who just wants all of the world's money. He was greedier than Wario. His sudden change ended up being covered in all the newspapers and on every news channel. To stop associating himself with his brother, Luigi requested that he would be known as "Mr. Pence". He soon met his long lost brother, a Blue plumber with a moustache that looked like Luigi's except it was upside down. He was the same height as Mario. His name was Germino.
Germino became Mr. Pence's sidekick, both of them would run a shop named "Mr. Pence". Mr. Pence used his likeness thinking that it would attract more customers, but that never happened, instead all the customers walked away from the shop because they thought that it was ripping off Luigi for extra money. Nintendo eventually came along and shut it down. With no job, The two were trying to think of how to earn money. But when walking around one day, Mr. Pence noticed some strange things going on. Such as the world suddenly becoming 8-bit, then turning 16-bit. Eventually he came across a strange looking museum, and that's where the Mr. Pence series begins.
